Teleri?

Teleri is what most people I care about have called me for almost 25 years, and I am often asked about my online ID, telerisghost. So, first, you might want to know how to pronounce the name Teleri; say it like "tell larry". It means "warbler" (a type of singing bird) in Welsh, and is taken from the Welsh cycle of legends, "The Mabingion". I chose it from that book, years ago, when I was involved in a medieval recreation group. We would create "personnas", fictional period identities. Mine had a sister, my real life best friend (who got me involved in the group), who called herself "Telstar". So when I hunted through a very long list of names attending a feast at King Arthur's court in the Mabinogion, Teleri was the perfect choice. In some instances, you will see my name Teleri paired with the surname MacCluiunn (pronounced Mac- Clen). This was a subgroup of my old medieval cronies, all of us "adopted" by this strange character who called himself "Gaffer". When Gaffer left the area years ago, he bequeathed to me Matriarchy of the Clan, and so it is still my pseudonymous surname.

telerisghost has been my online identity for several years now. It arose from my frustration at having lost previous teleri id's due to lapses in my web access. So there I was, setting up yet another yahoo account, and every numeric permutation of teleri I could think of was taken. I sighed, and thought to myself, "D*** it, I guess Teleri is just dead". Then it hit me- dead=ghost. Thus, telerisghost
